OUR STORY

GirSatvam began with a simple belief that pure food made with care belongs in every Indian home. Our story is rooted in our family’s bond with Indigenous Gir cows and the age old practice of making ghee the traditional way. What started as a nourishing staple in our own kitchen slowly grew into something bigger, a desire to share honest ghee with families looking for real ingredients and time tested methods.

Our journey is not driven by scale or shortcuts but by values passed down through our elders. We treat our Gir cows with kindness, let them graze freely and milk them by hand only after their calves are fed. This is the way our ancestors worked with nature, respecting the animal and the land it stands on, and we continue to hold this close.

Every jar of GirSatvam ghee reflects patience. Milk is turned into curd, curd is churned slowly to separate butter and the butter is cooked on a gentle flame until it becomes golden and aromatic. Working in small batches allows us to watch every step, to ensure what you receive is pure and full of intention.

Our Founder

Meet Aamruta Kanojia, the heart and guiding force behind GirSatvam. Aamruta grew up around Gir cows and a family that believed food should be made with care. What began as a home practice of making ghee the traditional way slowly turned into a purpose that she could not ignore.

Aamruta’s journey into this world was shaped by her childhood memories, long mornings at the gaushala and the gentle values passed down through her elders. The turning point came when she realised that many families no longer had access to real ghee made patiently, from cows treated with love. This sparked the desire to bring back purity and honesty into everyday kitchens with GirSatvam.

Through GirSatvam, Aamruta hopes to reconnect homes with traditional food wisdom that feels familiar and trustworthy.
